Transport yourself to Munich for Oktoberfest and enjoy a little bier, Bach and Brahms as Denver Philharmonic Orchestra's 70th Season premiere kicks off with a pre-concert Bavarian street festival. Oboist Hideki Machida from the Bavarian Philharmonic, DPO's transatlantic sister orchestra, will perform Johann Sebastian Bach's spirited Concerto for Violin & Oboe with DPO's own concertmaster, violinist Katherine Thayer. Joining for Franz Schubert's Magnificat are the Colorado Repertory Singers and solo vocalists Emily Morris, Jennifer DeDominici, Kevin Gwinn and Nicholas Navarre. The night concludes with Johannes Brahms' emotional Symphony No. 2.
